Swim & Dive Drops Tri-Meet vs Harvard, Miami

FIU recorded 14 top-five finishes

MIAMI – The FIU swimming & diving program dropped both decisions in Saturday's tri-meet against Miami and Harvard at the Doral Aquatic Center.
 
The Panthers fell to crosstown rival Miami, 189–118, before dropping a 217–81 decision to the Harvard Crimson. Overall, FIU recorded 14 top-five finishes on the afternoon.
 
Junior Diana Santamaria led the Panthers with four top-three finishes, highlighted by a victory in the 50-yard freestyle (23.59) and a second-place showing in the 100-yard backstroke (56.68). Santamaria was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team of Oumy Diop, Tawannah McLemore, Santamaria and Frida Stretre Løbersli, which placed second with a time of 1:43.82.
 
FIU's 400-yard medley relay squad of Diop, Ana Luiza Daisson, Santamaria and Pauline Zeller finished with a time of 3:29.10. Individually, Zeller added a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (55.37), while sophomore Tawannah McLemore placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (23.85).
 
Sally Olsson recorded a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.45) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.86). Sophomore Claudia Frasca earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.79) and placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (58.12).
 
In the 200-yard individual medley, Nicole Frank finished fifth with a time of 2:07.23, while junior Sianna Savarda also placed fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:14.45).
 
On the diving boards, Kristina Keenan led the Panthers with a fifth-place finish in the 1-meter event, scoring 271.50 to earn a zone qualifying cut. Ruska Lehtonen (256.75) and Sofia Torstensson (245.25) followed in eighth and ninth, respectively.
 
In the 3-meter competition, Lehtonen finished sixth with a score of 263.65, while freshman Adyson Downey placed eighth (260.85) and Kristina Keenan rounded out the field in ninth (237.95).
