MIAMI — FIU's Katerina Mandelikova was named Conference USA's Women's Tennis Player of the Week in Singles, as announced on Wednesday afternoon. 

Mandelikova, a senior from Ropice, Czech Republic, produced a dominant performance at No. 1 singles against 25th-ranked UCF. 'Katka' handled her competition in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5, snapping a nine-match win streak for her opponent, Daryna Shoshyna. 

This the first Player of the Week in 2025-26 for Mandelikova and FIU women's tennis. In her career, Mandelikova has earned Player of the Week several times in doubles, but this is her first singles honor since Feb. 21, 2024 and her second overall. 

The Panthers are back home this Saturday, taking on Princeton at noon on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the PayCargo Tennis Center.
