GREENSBORO, N.C. – The FIU swimming & diving program earned three medals on Thursday evening during day two of the American Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Freshman
Pauline Zeller played a key role in all three medal performances, highlighted by her first career individual conference medal in the 100 butterfly.
After two days of competition, the Panthers sit fourth overall with 499 points.
FIU opened the evening on the podium as the 200 free relay team of
Ana Luiza Daisson,
Tawannah McLemore,
Diana Santamaria and Zeller secured silver with a time of 1:30.40.
In the 100 fly, Zeller delivered a standout performance in her conference championship debut, earning bronze with a time of 53.19. Senior
Oumy Diop followed closely behind in fourth place, touching in 53.27.
The Panthers capped the night with another silver medal in the 400 medley relay. The quartet of Diop, Santamaria, Frida Stretre Løbersli and Zeller combined for a time of 3:37.44 to finish second.
FIU also placed three swimmers in the B Final of the 100 fly. Stretre Løbersli won the B Final with a time of 53.88, while
Lutnya Bogdanova placed 13th overall (55.12) and McLemore finished 14th (55.25).
Daisson competed in the B Final of the 200 free, finishing 16th overall with a time of 1:52.37.
On the diving boards,
Ruska Lehtonen advanced to the 1-meter final for the first time in her career and placed fifth overall with a score of 262.30.
