MIAMI — Four members of FIU's women's tennis program earned postseason recognition from Conference USA (CUSA), as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Katerina Mandelikova,
Aleksandra Simeva,
Vittoria Baccino, and
Viktorie Hazmukova were all recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Mandelikova earned First Team All-CUSA honors in both singles and doubles for the third consecutive year, marking her fourth straight season with multiple All-CUSA selections. Competing at the No. 1 position, she posted a 13-4 record, closed the season on a six-match win streak and was leading in three additional unfinished matches. She also secured a ranked win over UCF, earning Conference USA Player of the Week honors.
In doubles, Mandelikova partnered with Hazmukova, who together received First Team All-CUSA Doubles recognition. The duo compiled a 10-7 record at the No. 1 spot and climbed as high as No. 66 in the ITA rankings, after defeating a ranked duo from Columbia. Together, they also notched victories over Princeton, Yale, and Rice.
In her third season with the Panthers, Simeva earned Second Team All-CUSA Singles honors, her second career all-conference selection. Primarily competing at the No. 6 position, she recorded a ranked win over Rice and went undefeated in singles play at the CUSA Championships.
Baccino rounded out FIU's honorees, earning Second Team All-CUSA Singles recognition in her first season with the program. She posted an 8-6 overall singles record, starting the year at No. 3 before moving up to the No. 2 spot. Baccino also put together a five-match win streak, highlighted by a victory over North Florida.
