INDIANAPOLIS– FIU men's basketball senior forward
Corey Stephenson was named East All-Stars MVP in the Reese's Collegiate All-Star Game for his performance on Friday afternoon inside LucasOil Stadium, site of the Final Four.
Stephenson, who led FIU in scoring this season with 559 points, led the East team with 22 points, making nine field goals (four threes) and grabbing seven rebounds. He was the first Panther to ever be invited to the game, and made a name for himself.
Stephenson is the 11th Conference USA player to be invited to the event (joined by Liberty's Zach Cleveland in this game), coming on the heels of one of the best seasons in FIU history. He averaged 18.0 ppg, scored the fifth-most points in school history and was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
