MIAMI– FIU men's basketball has announced its first signing, adding Daytona State transfer and top-ranked JUCO prospect Noah Mendy. Mendy follows Joey Cantens and Adrian Davila from DSC after spending the last two seasons there.

Mendy, a native of Lyon, France, exploded during his sophomore season to the tune of 17.9 points per game and 5.4 rebounds, leading the team in points as the Falcons went on a run in the NJCAA postseason. He had 20+ points 13 times, including a season-high 36 at Indian River State on Jan. 21. He had his first double-double of the season in the FCSAA Semifinals, scoring 22 points and adding 10 boards against Eastern Florida State.

Continuing his strong season into the NJCAA playoffs, Mendy helped the Falcons take down Jones College in the opening round with an outstanding performance of 19 points and 15 rebounds, the latter of which were a career-best.

During his freshman season, Mendy appeared in 29 games, starting three, averaging 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds.

According to jucorecruiting.com's JUCO top-100 rankings, Mendy is the no. 6 JUCO prospect in the country. Mendy attended Putnam Science Academy during his high school days.
