Corey Stephenson Signs Exhibit 10 Contract with Detroit Pistons

FIU's 2025-26 leading scorer went undrafted, earns summer league invite following All-CUSA Second Team Season

6/25/2026 2:02:00 PM

DETROIT, Mich.– FIU forward Corey Stephenson has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Detroit Pistons after going undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft. Stephenson, who worked out for six different teams leading up to the draft, has also earned an NBA Summer League Invite as part of the deal.

Stephenson had a stellar season for the Panthers in 2025-26, one of the greatest statistical seasons in FIU history. He averaged 18.0 ppg, scored the fifth-most points in school history and was named to the All-Conference Second Team, and his .398 three-point percentage was the third-highest in program history, minimum 70 makes. Stephenson averaged 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting over 45 percent from the field, scoring in double digits in all but one game.

His outstanding season came to a head when he dropped 34 points in a road overtime win at Middle Tennessee, sealing the Panthers' first win in five years in Murfreesboro and the second-most points in a road game in school history behind Carlos Arroyo's record of 39 on 12/30/00.

Stephenson played and won MVP in the Reese's College All-Star Game and then was invited to appear in the pre-draft Portsmouth Invitational with several other draft hopeful seniors. He worked out with the Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers (2x), Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns before ultimately signing with the Pistons.

Stephenson will be the first former Panther to appear in the Summer League since Denver Jones (2021-23), who finished his collegiate career at Auburn, played in last season's summer league with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Should Stephenson make it to the NBA, he would join a small fraternity of former Panthers and Panther graduates to play in the league, the aforementioned Arroyo and Raja Bell, who retired in 2013 and is the last Panther to appear in an NBA game.

Exhibit 10 contracts are one-year deals worth the NBA minimum salary. They don't come with any compensation protection, but can include an optional bonus up to $91,200 and can be converted to a two-way contract.

Stephenson will participate in the NBA Summer League, which will be held from July 9-19 in Las Vegas.
