ARLINGTON, Texas — FIU football's JJ Kohl, Shamir Sterlin and Head Coach Willie Simmons are set to participate in Conference USA's (CUSA) 2026 Kickoff, a two-day event on Monday-Tuesday, July 20-21. 

Hosted at both the Texas Live! Arena and the adjacent Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center, the Panthers' two days in Texas will feature media/podcast availability, digital content opportunities and a live show aired on ESPN+. FIU's trio will take part in the marquee event of the CUSA Kickoff, an ESPN+ live show, on Monday, July 20 for a 20-minute segment, beginning at 11:40 a.m. ET / 10:40 a.m. CT. 

A press conference with Coach Simmons will take place on Tuesday, July 21 at 10:35 a.m. ET / 9:35 a.m. CT. 

The Panthers will begin their fall camp preparations in early August with their sights set on the 2026 season's opening contest at USF in Tampa on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
