Junior (2014-15): Named C-USA Golfer of the Year…Wrapped up a memorable NCAA Championships appearance with a fourth-round score of 74, to finish with a final mark of 301 (+13) for the tournament, placing her 25th overall in a field of 131 competitors...Became just the seventh athlete in program history to finish in the top 25 at an NCAA Championship, and the first since Moira Dunn in 1994….Claimed a top 10 spot in the NCAA St. George Regional to earn her berth into the NCAA Championships…Was FIU's first individual competitor in 21 years to qualify for the NCAA Championships, since Dunn in 1994. Freshman (2012-13): Named the 2013 SBC Freshman of the Year, SBC Women’s Golf All-Conference First-Team and All-Tournament Team…named the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for October…led the Sun Belt with a 73.90 stroke average and three individual medalist honors…finished in a tie for 51st at the NCAA East Regional Championship with a 75-74-75-224 (+8)...had her career-best outing at the 2013 SBC Women’s Golf Championship, winning the individual title and leading the team to its first conference championship...scored a 212 (-4) at the conference championship and led the field from start to finish...scored below par twice during the event going 71-68-73 over the three rounds...tied for 22nd at the web.com Intercollegiate, with a 221 (+5)...tied for 17th at the Notre Dame Clover Cup with a 222 (+6)...began the spring with a fifth-place showing at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge...scored a 218 (+2) at the Terrapin Challenge, including a 70 in the opening round...was nationally-ranked as high as No. 57 by GolfStat during the fall…took over at the No. 1 position for the final two tournaments of the fall…concluded the semester tying for 21st at the University of Hawaii’s Second Annual Rainbow Wahine Invitational…opened with a 74, but followed up with a 76 and 78 to finish at 12-over (228)…won individual medalist honors at the 35th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational...finished atop the leaderboard with a one-over (217) over the 54 holes...was arguably the most consistent scorer of the tournament, recording 76-71-70 over the three rounds…tied for third at the Sixth Annual Johnie Imes Invitational…shot even-par (216) after scoring 70-73-73 over three rounds…was part of a three-way for medalist honors, winning the Wolverine Invitational in her collegiate debut…had a 14-over (227) to equal Eastern Michigan’s Alyssa Kwon and Michigan’s Alicia Weber for the individual title…remained atop the leaderboard after all the three rounds over the course of the event.
International Competition: Won the 2013 Irish Women’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at the Castle Golf Club in Dublin...shot a three-round score of 218...delivered the title-winning fifth point as her England squad took home the 2012 Girls’ Home International championship at Radyr, Wales…the England squad came from behind to beat the hosts, Wales, 5-4 on the final day and secure the Stroyan Cup for the fifth year in a row…shot a tournament-low 71 on the second day of the English Girl’s Championship, and followed up with an impressive 68 in the third round to lead the pack of challengers for the title in the final round of competition…came in with a 73 on the final day to take second-place and finish one-under…was selected to play on several regional and national teams as an amateur, including County Girls Golf Team (2007-12), County Ladies Golf Team (2008-12), England Schools Team (2009-10), England Under-18 Squad (2010-12), England Under-16 Girls Team (2010) and England Girls Home Internationals Team (2011-12)…was captain of the England Schools Girls International Team in 2009-10…in 2010, finished third at the British Ladies Strokeplay, was the leading amateur competing in the Ricoh Ladies British Open Pre-Qualifier, runner-up at the Faldo Series Grand Final, earned a Top 10 finish in Scottish Ladies Open Strokeplay and the English Girls Under-18 Championship and was named the 2010 County Ladies and Girls Champion…in 2009, was the England Schools Midland Region Ladies and Girls Champion as well as the County Girls Champion.
Prior to FIU: Attended The Ferrers Specialists Arts College from 2005-12, where she earned the Young Sportswoman of the Year award in 2009 and Upper School Sportsperson of the Year in 2010
Personal: In addition to golf, which she starting playing at age 4, has played soccer since age 7…also participated in basketball from 2005-10...for soccer, played with the Rushden & Diamonds Football Club Centre of Excellence (2003-07), Rothwell Town Football Club (2008-12) and primary school basketball and soccer teams from 2005-10…honored with the Rotary Club Young Achieve Award in 2009…academically, carried a 4.0 grade point average…daughter of David and Mary MacLaren…has one sister, Rebecca...plans to major in English, Creative Writing or Math…would like to pursue a professional golf career following college…is an avid supporter of the Newcastle United football club…parents were also involved in amateur golf, playing in British Universities Tournaments.
