FIU Athletics

As a Sophomore (2012-13): Represented FIU in the 100 breaststroke , 200 breaststroke and 200 IM at the Sun Belt Conference Championships…Swam to a ninth place finish in the 100 breaststroke at the SBC Championships with a finals time of 1:04.15…Also finished ninth in the 200 breaststroke at the Championships with a mark of 2:18.52…Earned an eighth place finish in the 200 IM at the SBC Championships, clocking in at 2:05.47…Earned a second place finish vs. UNF (11/3) in the 200 freestyle, earning a mark of 1:56.61. 

As a Freshman (2011-12): Notched three school records during the Sun Belt Championships in the 200 IM (2:04.47), in the 100 breast (1:04.62), and in the 200 breast (2:21.05)…Earned fourth place in both the 200 IM (2:10.47) and 200 breast (2:27.91) against FAU and Florida Southern (11/5)…Swam in the 200 IM against FGCU (9/30) and finished fourth (2:11.10)…Took third place in the 100 breast (1:08.99) against Central Connecticut State (1/14) and took second in the 200 back (2:11.78) …Placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:14.25) at the UALR Invitational (12/1)…Swam a time of 1:08.59 in the 100 breast and a time of 2:12.13 in the 200 IM against FGCU and finished in the top three…Finished second in the 200 IM (2:12.13) against FGCU (1/28)…Competed against FAU and DSC (2/04) and clutched second place in the 100 breast (1:07.65).

Prior to FIU: Was a junior national qualifier in the 200 IM at Kingwood (Tex.) High… Three-time all-state honorable mention… Scholastic All-American in 2010 and 2011… Junior National Qualifier 200IM (2010)… Top Times: 200IM 2:08, 100 Breast 1:07.74, 200 Breast 2:24.71.

Personal: Born on Nov. 16, 1992 in Kingwood, Texas… Daughter of John and Linda Meara… Chose FIU over TCU, North Texas, Florida Atlantic University, University of Arkansas Little Rock… A health services administration major.
