2018-19 (Freshman Year): Was named to the Conference USA (C-USA) Commissioner’s Honor Roll, recognizing students with a 3.0 grade-point-average (GPA) or better … Saw action in just seven games on the year … Averaged 2.3 points-per-contest and 0.7 rebounds-per-outing … Had a career night at UTSA (2/7) scoring eight points and grabbing three rebounds, all career-bests … Also recorded five points two games later against Rice (2/14).  

Prep Career: Played his scholastic basketball at the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, where he helped to guide the Bulldogs to a 22-10 record – and a No. 11 ranking in the Washington Post high school poll – during the 2017-18 campaign, and a runner-up finish in the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC), one year removed from an IAC title ... During his senior year, Smith averaged 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists-per-game.
 
Personal: Was born in Rockville, Maryland ... Is the son of Roy Spooner and Kelly Smith ... Enjoys watching Netflix and reading in his spare time ... Was a three-time member of the Honor Roll at The Bullis School, and was also involved in the school newspaper and the debate club ... In addition to basketball, Smith also was a member of the golf team ... Would like to play professionally after his collegiate career and eventually earn his master's degree ... Is currently majoring in criminal justice.
