Biography
2019-20 (Junior): Alcaide earned an 8-5 overall record in singles action…Opened the season with a victory over conference opponent FAU at the Bedford Cup, after taking down Radka Buzkova in straight-sets, 6-2,6-4…Picked up an individual victory over Power-5 foe, FSU at the ITA Regionals (Oct.18-21)…Went undefeated at the FIU Invitational (Nov.1-3), after picking up wins over Iowa and Mizzou in singles matchups… With doubles partner Ashley Vielma, the duo owned a 4-4 mark overall, with a conference win over Marshall (2/22)…Remaining matches were canceled due to the COVID outbreak
Prior to FIU: Spent two years at VCU...Was
named First Team All-Atlantic 10 and guided VCU to back-to-back A-10 Championships her sophomore year...She recorded a 20-5 singles record and went 13-1 in the No. 3 spot...Achieved a combined doubles record of 12-6 and received A-10 Co-Player of the Week honors...Was recognized by the league as an All-Atlantic 10 Second Team selection her freshman year... Posted an overall singles record of 15-2 and a combined doubles record of 12-5...Prior to her collegiate career, Alcaide earned one WTA ranking point and won the team championship at the 2016 Catalonia Absolute Championship with Reial Club de Tennis Barcelona...Was also a finalist of the 2015 Catalonia Absolute Championship, as well as a finalist for the team championship at the 2016 Spanish Absolute Championship with Reial Club de Tennis Barcelona.
