Golden Dazzler Information
Spirit Team Requirements
2014-15 FIU Cheerleading Team
Tryout Date: Wednesday, May 7th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Thursday, May 8th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Tryout Location: FIU Football Stadium – Gate 4
What to Bring:
· University Acceptance or Deferral Letter
· Health Insurance Card
· $25.00 acceptable by Cash or Check made payable to FIU Cheerleading

Squad responsibilities:
Attend NCA College Camp in Myrtle Beach, SC August 8-10
Two 3-hour practices per week and an additional skills practice at a local all-star training facility.
Cheering at all home Football and Basketball games (Men’s and Women’s) in addition to Pep Rallies, Spirit Functions, Paid and Charitable Spirit, Athletics or Marketing Events.
**Competition is optional and will be discussed at a later date**
Incentives:
· Full Book Scholarships fall and spring semester
· Priority Registration
· Access to the Universities Student Athletic Center and its resources
Requirements:
Male and Female athletes who demonstrate a strong game day spirit and presence as well as those who display a superior knowledge of cheer, acrobatics or gymnastics will all be considered. A balance of the two is preferred and athletes will be chosen based on showmanship as well as talent. We encourage all those who think they would be an asset to the program to tryout.
2014-2015 FIU Golden Dazzlers Team
Date: Saturday, May 3rd
Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. at the FIU Arena
Auditions begin at 10:00 a.m.
Audition fee: $15 for incoming students; $10 for current FIU students.

-Photo copy of medical health insurance card (front & back of card)
-Photo copy of FIU student ID card, letter of acceptance to the University
-Head shot photograph – No bigger than a 4 X 7 (Will not be returned)
-A reference letter from a current or former coach with contact information for reference background check
-Audition fee
We will be looking for well-rounded dancers/athletes.
Requirements for dancers: high kicks, toe touch, pirouettes, fouettes, leaps, triple turns, flexibility skills

Spirit Teams Requirements
Eligibility for both Cheerleading and Golden Dazzlers
Must be a full-time undergraduate student (min 12 credits) or graduate student (min 9 credits) at FIU for the Fall 2014 semester.
-If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student, you MUST provide a letter of acceptance into the university.
-If you a current student you MUST provide a copy of your student ID and a copy of your class schedule
Attire
Women
-Sports bra/crop top, fitted shorts or pants. No baggy clothing. All mid-torso area must be exposed as all dance and cheer uniforms are designed that way.
-Hair should be performance ready with appropriate make-up
-NO jewelry (including all body piercings!) Must cover all visible tattoos.
-Dress to impress the judges and audience

Sleeved t-shirt/Gym shorts/White socks/White tennis shoes
