Pete Collins begins his third season as an offensive graduate assistant coach for the Panthers in 2015.
Collins came to FIU in 2013 after serving in player development for Rutgers since 2010. In that role, he helped monitor and develop the Scarlet Knights in aspects of their educational process. He also worked closely with the offensive positions, and helped oversee the defensive scout team.
From 2009-10, Collins was an Assistant Defensive Line Coach at Northeastern and was also responsible for recruiting high school and junior colleges in 15 western states.
Prior to Northeastern, Collins was on the coaching staff at Delaware Valley College from 2007-09, where he worked with the running backs. At DVC, he organized and ran the defensive scout team, was responsible for offensive and special team cut-ups, opponent film breakdown, compiling a weekly scouting report and Offensive Coordinator for the junior varsity team.
In the summer of 2006, Collins worked with the Indianapolis Colts as a football operations intern.
Collins, married to his wife Amy, received a Bachelor’s in 2007 from Mary Washington with an emphasis in Secondary Education and Political Science.
