Kenny Boynton

The second-leading scorer in Florida Gators history with 2,033 career points and the record holder for 3-pointers made in school history with 333, Kenny Boynton was named an assistant coach for scouting on Joey Cantens' staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Landing his first coaching role, Boynton spent the last decade-plus playing overseas, most recently for the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association. During his career overseas, Boynton has had stops in China, Israel, France, Turkey and Russia after going undrafted out of college in 2013.

Under Billy Donovan, Boynton had one of the most decorated careers in UF history, being named coaches’ first-team All-SEC in 2012 after he was a second-team All-SEC in 2011 and 2013 and SEC All-Freshman in 2010. Boynton also picked up AP second-team All-SEC honors in 2012 and was honorable mention All-SEC in 2013.

A native of Pompano Beach, Fla., Boynton attended American Heritage School, where he was a standout in the state of Florida. In his senior season, Boynton averaged 33.0 points per game, including a game where he scored 61 points. He finished his high school career as the third-leading scorer in Florida high school basketball history. Kenny was also named to the 2009 McDonald's All-American Boys Game and the Parade All-America first team.
