Brittany White was named assistant women's basketball coach on Aug. 15, 2022.
Prior to joining FIU, White spent four seasons at Tuskegee University as an assistant women's basketball coach with the Golden Tigers.
In 2021, White was honored to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 list, which recognizes 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches age 30-and-under at all levels of the game.
During the 2021-22 season, White helped the Golden Tiger program win 22 games for an overall record of 22-5 and 15-3 in the SIAC, going on to win the Western Division Regular Season title. White also helped develop and coach the 2022 SIAC Player of the Year in Ashiala Jackson, along with the SIAC Defensive Player of the Year in JuToreyia Willis. Jackson also earned D2CCA All-South Region Second Team honors during the year.
In the 2020-21 campaign, White guided Tuskegee to a 12-2 record while helping the Golden Tigers earn their first berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament since 2008. Throughout the year, the Lady tigers were ranked as high as No. 16 nationally and finished the season ranked at No. 25.
During the 2019-20 season, Tuskegee finished as the SIAC conference runner-up and beat its first Division I opponent in 20 years with a 78-73 win over Georgia State.
In 2018-19, White helped TU achieve the school's best record in 19 years, finishing with a 20-6 overall mark. The record marked the program's first 20-win season since 2000. The Golden Tigers also advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament and ended the year with a 13-3 league record. TU's season stood as one of the best turnarounds in NCAA Division II as the Lady Tigers won 14 more games than the previous year.
Prior to arriving at TU, White spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Francis Marion University women's basketball. White's primary responsibilities with the Patriots included recruiting, on-floor coaching, individual player workouts, and helping in the area of academic support for team members.
In White's first year with FMU, the Patriots went 18-12 and placed second in the Peach Belt Conference's East Division. During White's second year, Francis Marion posted a 16-12 mark.
White spent the 2015-16 year as a physical education teacher at Forest Park Middle School near Atlanta. White also worked with the Collegiate Prep Basketball Academy and served as a basketball official.
Between 2013-15, White spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Delta State under head coach Craig Roden. During her time at DSU, the Lady Statesmen posted a combined two-year record of 43-16, while also making two appearances in the Gulf South Conference Tournament championship game. DSU also earned a bid to the 2014 NCAA Division II Tournament.
Before joining the coaching ranks, White played two seasons at Augusta University where she captained the Jaguars as both a junior and senior. As a senior, White helped lead the Jaguars to a 21-6 mark and a No. 6 national ranking for scoring defense (53.8 ppg) per game. The Jaguars led the Peach Belt Conference in steals (3.9 spg) and ranked fourth in NCAA Division II.
White spent her first two playing years at Southern Polytechnic State University, an NAIA Division I program. A two-year starter, White garnered All-Freshmen, All-Academic, and All-Tournament team recognition. White helped lead Southern Polytechnic to a pair of SSAC Tournament titles, two NAIA national tournament bids, and one Sweet Sixteen appearance (2010).
White completed a 90-hour internship with Dip Metris, the head men's basketball coach at Augusta. White also coached a summer AAU team for four years, instructed at Southern Polytechnic's basketball camp, and completed a 450-hour internship at the Downtown Augusta YMCA, where she instructed girls on the fundamentals of basketball.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, White earned a B.S. degree in Kinesiology from Augusta University and an M.S. degree in sport and human performance from Delta State University.
