2016-17 (Freshman): Appeared in five meets for the Panthers… Competed at the National Championship (3/16/17) in the 400 Medley Relay, where she set a personal best relay split in the 100 Breaststroke (59.99)… She placed second in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke at the Conference USA Championship (2/22/17), breaking the school record in the 100 Breast (1:00.74)… She placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:01.46) at the C-USA Championship… She placed in the top-three 12 times on the year, including placing first in the 200 Breast (2:10.53) against FGCU (1/28/17), the 100 Back (59.34) at the FIU Sprint Invite (1/6/17), and the 200 Back (2:07.45) against FAU (2/2/17)… She was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year.
 
Previous to FIU: Won Finnish age-group championship in 2011 with a new age-group record in 2011… Won multiple national medals in junior and senior championships… Represented Finland in Youth Olympics 2014 in Nanjing, China (50, 100, 200 backstroke)… Nordic champion in 200 Back in 2013… Also has other medals from Nordic Championships (medley relay gold, 100 backstroke and 200 breastroke bronze and silver in 50 backstroke)… On the Junior National Team in 2012. 
 
Personal: Parents - Risto Luukkanen and Marjo Mäntykivi…Siblings - Erika and Noora (sisters)… Majoring in biology..Planning to go back to Finland, travel all over the world and apply to pharmacy or medicational school back home once done at FIU
