2018-19 (Sophomore): Participated at the C-USA Championships (2/27), picked up three top-10 finishes in the 100 Back, 200 Back and 100 Fly...Opened up the season at Miami (9/29) with a third-place finish in the 100 Back (57.83) and a fourth-place finish in the 200 Back (2:07.26)...Came in third at Denver (10/20) in the 100 Back (59.18)...At the IRSC (11/2) picked up fourth-place finish in the 100 Back (58.96)... Against FGCU (1/26) picked up a second-place finish in the 200 Back (2:08.71) and was seventh in the 100 Back (55.15)...Registered a third-place finish against conference opponent FAU (2/2) during the 100 Fly event (1:00.53)...Was named to the 2018-19 C-USA Academic Honor Roll. 

2017-18 (Freshman): Achieved a 17th place finish in both the 100 and 200 Back at the C-USA Championship (2/23). Tallied 14 top-ten finishes throughout the season... Against Miami (9/27), placed 5th in the 100 Back (59.43) and 6th in the 200 Back (2:11.33)... Registered a 3rd place finish in the 100 Back and a 2nd place finish in the 200 Back against Northern Florida and Georgia State (10/07)... Tallied a 6th place finish against Denver (10/28), in the 100 Back with a time of 59.56...Notched two career best against C-USA foe, Rice (10/27) in the 50 Back and 200 Back with times of 28.12 and 2:09.60 respectively...At Illinois (11/03) the rookie posted another 6th place finish in the 100 Back event (1:00.38)...Achieved a career best against Nova (1/20) when she posted a time of 58.93 in the 100 Back and finished in fourth place. At FAU (2/04) Vargas placed in the 3rd in the 100 back and 4th in the 200 back with times of 1:00.13 and 2:09.68 respectively. 

Prior to FIU: Coached by Ariel Fernandez… Received MVP for all 4 years of high school… Was selected for Zones to compete nationally in 2011 and 2014 to represent Florida Gold Coast Swimming, where she placed 7^th in the 200 Back… Placed 6^th overall at The 2016 Florida State Championships in the 100 Back… Was a part of the Zones Diversity Camp in 2015… Selected to represent Florida Gold Coast Swimming in the All-Star meet in 2011, 2014, and 2015.
 
Personal: Parents –Miguel Vargas and Katiuska Vargas… Born in Doral, Florida… Majoring in Sports Management and  Physical Therapy… Hobbies are watching baking, skating and going to the beach.
