As a Senior (2014-15): Named FIU Swimming and Diving’s Unsung Hero award winner…Swam in six events for the Panthers during the season…Earned three, top-three finishes on the year…Represented FIU in the 100, 200 and 500 Freestyle events at the Conference USA Championships…Opened the season with a second place finish against Florida Atlantic (10/4) in the 1000 freestyle…Earned a first-place finish against Indian River State College (11/1) in the 1000 freestyle, earning a time of 10:36.46…Posted a person best time of 26.04 seconds in the 40 freestyle in the FIU Invite (1/3).

As a Junior (2013-14): Posted a 200 freestyle time of 1:50.91 at the Mizzou Invite (11/22) which stood as the second fastest top time in the 200 freestyle for FIU on the season…That mark was also a top 10 time in the school record books…Also clocked a 500 freestyle mark of 4:56.97 at the Mizzou Invite which was the third fastest time for the 2013-14 campaign for FIU and a top 10 time in school history…Swam the mile in 17:04.33, the third fastest mark for FIU on the year…Earned a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle vs. UNF (10/19), earning a time of 10:30.36…Followed that up with another first place finish in the same event at Indian River (11/1) two weeks later, clocking in at 10:25.24, a season-best mark for her…Earned the 200 freestyle crown against Central Connecticut State (1/11), posting a time of 1:55.51.

As a Sophomore (2012-13): Contributed as a freestyle swimmer for the Panthers during her sophomore campaign…Swam in the 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events at the SBC Championships…Her time of 1:52.32 at the SBC Championships earned her a 12th place finish in the 200 freestyle….Finished the mile in 17:39.06 at the Championships as well, good enough for a 13th place finish…Her 200 freestyle time at the Conference Championships was the third highest for FIU during the 2012-13 season. 

As a Freshman (2011-12): Earned a personal best time of 1:52.87 in the 200 freestyle at the SBC Championships (2/22/12), which was good enough for the fifth-best time in FIU history… Also swam personal best times in the 100 (53.34) and 500 (5:06.41) freestyle events at the SBC Championships (2/22)… Teamed up with Vicnan Torres, Colleen Quinn, and Johanna Gustafsdottir and came in first against FAU and FSC (11/5/11) in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.89… During the UALR Christmas Invitational (12/1/11), she earned second placed beside Sonia Perez, Kayla Derr, and Gustafsdottir in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:39.62… Finished first against Central Connecticut State (1/14/12) in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.35…Took first place alongside Klara Andersson, Gustafsdottir and Kelly Grace in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.34 against FGCU (1/28/12).

Prior to FIU: Swam and played soccer at St. Bernard's Catholic Grammar School… Team captain for Windsor Swimming Club… Ranked in the top 30 in the United Kingdom for 50, 100 and 200 freestyles… Top Times: 50 Free 27.2 (50m), 100 Free 57.8 (25m), 200 Free 2:04.7 (25m), 400 Free 4:25.3 (25m)… Southeast England 4x100 relay champions in 2009 and 2010.

Personal: Born Feb. 26, 1993 in London, England… Daughter of John and Claire Farrugia… Has three siblings; Anthony, Jamie and Maria… Enjoys playing soccer, in her spare time… She is a diet and nutrition major who strives to be a sport scientist for a professional sports team… She chose FIU over Florida Gulf Coast and Long Island University.
