Prior to FIU: Scalia comes to FIU as a multiple Junior Representive for Italy, including participation in the European Junior Championships, the Milan Trophy and the Multination Games…At the 2013 Summer National Youth Championships, she won the gold medal in the 50 backstroke, clocking a personal best long course time of 29.11… Her top time in the 50 backstroke for short course is 28.49… Additional top times include 1:01.02 in the 100 backstroke (SC), 1:03.81 in the 100 backstroke (LC), 2:08.58 in the 200 backstroke (SC), 2:18.93 in the 200 medley (SC) and 28.66 seconds in the 50 butterfly (LC).
