PREP CAREER: The Romanian native has won over 30 matches over the past three years, despite a decrease in matches due to COVID-19 pandemic in 2020... Has won national titles in singles and doubles, while earning a career-high 158 junior ranking.

PERSONAL: Native of Timisoara, Romania... Chose FIU because of Coach Katarina Petrovic, the business school and because it was in Miami... She has aspirations of playing professional tennis... Father, Valentin Velcea, was a professional soccer player and coach in Romania... Brother, Valentin Velcea, currently plays professional soccer as a goalkeeper.
