Former FIU tennis standout Maryna Veksler rejoins the Panthers in 2023 in her first year as an assistant coach at FIU after enjoying a solid career for the Panthers that includes a Conference USA title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018, two-time First Team All-Conference USA and C-USA Freshman of the Year accolades. 

During her senior campaign in 2018-19, Veksler was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team while posting a 7-4 mark in doubles play with Partner Paulina Bakaite. The duo ran a nine-match winning streak from February 3rd through March 13th, reaching a season-high doubles ranking of No. 58 with partner Kamila Umarova at 5-2 as a tandem. Additionally, Veksler was named to the 2019 C-USA Academic Honor Roll List.

Her junior season in 2017-18, Maryna posted a 16-6 mark in singles play, including going undefeated against C-USA opponents with a 5-0 mark in the No. 3 spot and 2-0 in the No. 4 spot. Veksler and teammate Ulyana duo made impressive marks in doubles, duo recording an 18-5 record overall and going undefeated against all C-USA opponents to earn a bid to compete in the 2018 NCAA Doubles Championships. Veksler was named to the 2017-18 U-CSA Academic Honor Roll and recognized on the 2017-18 Commissioner's Academic Medal List.

As a sophomore in 2017, Vekselr earned First-Team All-C-USA honors behind an overall record of 23-6, with a mark of 16-3 in dual matches at the No. 2 position and 2-0 in C-USA action. She won 20 of her matches in straight sets, also claiming a win in the C-USA Championships, while also collecting All-C-USA Second Team honors in doubles with her partner Ulyana Grib. The duo held a record of 24-5 including a team-best 16-2 mark at the No. 2 position, helping land Veksler be named FIU's Most Improved Player of the 2016-17 campaign.  

Veklser enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign for the Panthers, being named the C-USA Freshman of the Year in addition to being a First-Team All-C-USA selection - also marking the first Panther in program history to win the C-USA Freshman of the Year award. Veksler finished second on the team with 26 wins and achieved 19 of those in straight sets, while 11 of her 26 wins came in duals all at the No. 1 position. Additionally, she was named C-USA Player of the Month in October for achieving a 10-2 record and winning the ITA Southeast Regional Consolations. She also earned FIU Team MVP honors as a freshman.  

Prior to FIU, Maryna had a successful World Junior circuit career, ranked No. 60 in the ITF Junior World Rankings and was a member of the Ukranian National Team at the European Championships in Switzerland in 2014. Veksler participated in the Junior Grand Slam at Roland Garros (Paris), while also earning the singles title at the Cup of Ukraine. She also won the singles title at the Ukraine Championship and was the singles champion at the Cup of Ukraine in 2013. Since 2010, Maryna has been recognized as Master of Sport of Ukraine (equating to a national champion).

A native of Kiev, Ukraine, Veksler graduated from FIU with a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering in 2018.Â
