Dr. Kevin D. Kendrick joined the FIU Athletics Department in January 2020 as the Associate Athletic Director of Athletics for Compliance and was elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director in November 2021.

As a member of the FIU Athletics’ Executive Staff, he provides administrative leadership and oversight of the Office of Athletic Compliance and serves as the sport administrator for football. During his oversight of football, he has had a direct impact in fundraising and program enhancement, overseeing all efforts to launch NIL incentives, including The Panther Exchange (in partnership with the onboarding team at INFLCR), Influxer, NoCap, and the BluePrint Collective. Kendrick represented FIU in March 2021 alongside each athletic director in the state of Florida to address resources for NIL while speaking with the Democratic Congressional Staff, Republican Congressional Staff, and the Energy and Commerce Committee Staff. He also collaborated with AD Carr and the development team to initiate the largest one-time philanthropic gift in the history of FIU Athletics ($2 million).
 
During Kendrick’s time at FIU, he has successfully led the department through a Conference USA (C-USA) Compliance Review/ Audit, as well as an Institutional Control Review. Under his leadership, FIU has implemented a number of progressive student-athlete programs. Under Kendrick’s leadership and partnership with Forward Progress, the FIU Athletic Department achieved all-time highs in Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores, Graduation Success Rate (GSR) scores, and department Grade Point Average (GPA). Committed to increase the student-athlete well-being/performance, academic success, culture of competitive excellence, brand, and financial success of FIU Athletics, he was responsible for the Culture of Competitive Excellence strategic theme in the Relentless Pursuit: Strategic Plan for FIU Athletics (2023-2028).
 
Prior to FIU, Kendrick oversaw university efforts to operate each program in compliance with NCAA, conference rules and guidelines at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He provided leadership, oversight and supervision related to internal operations of the academic advising student services, the compliance program, and student-athlete experience, including NCAA eligibility, graduation audits and student-athlete welfare. In addition, he also oversaw matters concerning eligibility, admissions, financial aid, rules education, rules interpretations and monitoring procedures. Kendrick served on various committees including the SIU Administrative Professional Staff Council and Chancellor’s Diversity Council.

The Atlanta, Ga., native was also the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance at Alabama State University (2013-16) where he served on the Alabama Athlete Agent Commission. From 2011-13, Kendrick worked at Grambling State University as the Assistant Director of Compliance and started his compliance career as the Graduate Assistant and Compliance Assistant Intern at Arkansas State University. Kendrick was named a mentor for the 2018 ACE (Athletics Compliance Elite) class. He is a current member of the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC) Legislation and Governance Committee and Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA).

Kendrick earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2006 where he was a member of the Golden Lion baseball team. He later earned his MBA (emphasis in Finance) in 2009 from Argosy University. Additionally, he earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
