Byron serves as an Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities & Operations at FIU. Byron has worked at FIU since June of 2005, after earning his degree in psychology from the university that same year. 

Prior to working at FIU, Byron was a member of the Panther track & field team from 2001-03 and ran professionally in Haiti. 

A native of Miami, Byron is married to Traci Young-Byron.Â
