    Assistant Volunteer Coach - Beach Volleyball
Mike Dodd enters his first season as a collegiate beach volleyball coach for the FIU Panthers.
 
Dodd is an Olympic Silver-Medalist in the 1996 Summer Games for beach volleyball. In his 18-year career, he has won 75 titles, including five Manhattan Beach Opens. Dodd has served as a beach analysist at the 2000 Olympic Games and an indoor analysist for NBC in 2004. At the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Dodd coached Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal. Dodd also captained Team USA in 2009 in the inaugural AVP World Challenge. In 2009, Dodd became the first person to coach the men’s and women’s champions of the same Manhattan Beach Open.
 
Dodd has been named the AVP Best Spiker (1989), AVP Best Defensive Player (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997), AVP Most Inspirational (1995, 1996, 1997), and AVP Sportsman of the Year (1994, 1996). In 2000, Dodd was inducted into the California Beach Volleyball Association Hall of Fame.
 
Dodd attended San Diego State University, where he played volleyball and basketball. He was drafted by the San Diego Clippers in 1979.
