Julie Berg has been a member of the FIU athletic staff since 1990, and was promoted to senior associate athletic director in December 2005. Her current primary responsibilities include sport supervision (men’s and women’s soccer, indoor and beach volleyball, softball, golf, tennis, swimming & diving and men’s and women’s cross country and Track&Field), oversight of major facility projects, sports medicine and strength and conditioning.
Berg originally came to FIU as an assistant athletic trainer in 1990 and was then named head athletic trainer in 1996. She became FIU's senior woman administrator in 1999 and was promoted from head athletic trainer to associate athletic director for internal operations in 2001.

A 1985 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Berg earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Miami in 1987, working with the nationally-recognized Hurricane football program along the way. She served as the head athletic trainer at South Dade High School from 1987-90 before joining the Golden Panthers staff. A native of Spring Valley, N.Y., Berg and her husband, Michael McGraw, have a son, Ian.
