@FIUFootball Game versus Maryland Moved to Friday, Sept. 9

MIAMI (April 6, 2016) – The FIU football program announced today that its home game versus Maryland at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium has been moved to Friday, Sept. 9, from its originally scheduled date of Saturday, Sept. 10.

"We are excited to have our first two games at home and at night," Head Coach Ron Turner said. "Maryland is a good program and our guys look forward to having a 'Friday Night Lights' experience two games into the season. This will be a great opportunity for our program to be showcased on a Friday night. It should be a great atmosphere under the lights."

This year's contest versus Maryland will mark the fifth meeting all-time between the two schools and the Terrapins' second trip to Miami to face the Panthers.

FIU football also announced today the date of the 2016 Homecoming game. This year's homecoming contest will be the Oct. 22 game versus Louisiana Tech.
