Final Box Score
The Florida International women's soccer team couldn't get the ball in the net Friday night at University Park, and the Golden Panthers were topped 1-0 by Columbia in overtime. The sudden death goal came courtesy of Columbia's Courtney Nasshorn in the 95th minute.
The Golden Panthers seemed to run out of gas at the end of the final period and in overtime, as the Lions outshot them 7-0 in the final 28:00. The goal was set up by a series of passes that caused FIU sophomore goalkeeper Juliana Gomez to commit outside, giving Nasshorn an open goal for the winner.
Gomez recorded four saves and gave up just the one goal in 95:28 of action. The Golden Panthers next face Charleston Southern on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at University Park.
