Coral Gables, Fla. ? Goals from Paulelett Ricks-Chambers and Rebecca Tweneboah were enough to lift Miami past Florida International, 2-0, in non-conference women's soccer action Wednesday evening at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Fla.
Â
Ricks-Chambers put the Hurricanes (5-0-0) up in just the third minute of play when she headed home a cross from Bryn Heinicke at the near post. Rachel Rigamat was also credited with an assist on the play.
Â
The Golden Panthers (0-4-0) created six shots to Miami's three for the remainder of the first half, and yet remained a goal down at the half. Tweneboah gave UM an insurance goal with a 65th-minute strike from the top of the penalty area off an assist from Danielle Grieble that beat FIU goalkeeper Madeline Gannon (Ft. Myers, Fla.) to the left post.
Â
Although out-shot 14-8 for the match, the Golden Panthers did force a game-high four saves from Miami goalkeeper Lauren McAdam. Freshman midfielder Lonne Godskesen (Odense, Denmark) had a team-high two shots for the Golden Panthers while six others had one each.

The Golden Panthers return to action Sunday when they travel to Tampa to take on USF at 1 p.m.
