The FIU men's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision to the 11th ranked Golden Hurricane, Wednesday night in Tulsa, Okla.
Tulsa scored four first half goals led by Jose Prada's two goals and Eric DeFreita's three first half assists as the Golden Hurricane never gave FIU a chance to get in the match.
Chris Clements got the scoring started in the 11th minute when he redirected a corner kick from Prada for his second score of the year.
Joe Salem netted his first goal of the season in the 20th minute to give Tulsa a 2-0 lead.
After Hunter Christiansen made the score 3-0, Jose Prada scored his first goal of the match and fourth of the season when he beat FIU keeper Kyle Thomas (Jensen Beach, Fla.) one on one.
The Golden Hurricane would tack on two more goals in the 77th and 89th minute brining the final tally to 6-0.
For FIU, sophomore Juan Guerra (Caracas, Venezuela) had four shots.
Tulsa outshot FIU 25-10.
The loss drops FIU to 2-11-2 (2-5-0 C-USA) while the win brings Tulsa's record to 10-2-2 (4-0-2 C-USA).
Next up for FIU is a match with cross-town rival Florida Atlantic this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Boca Raton.
