Denver 2, FIU 0

FIU's women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Denver Friday afternoon at Pioneer Field.

"It was a 0-0 game at half but they were just better than us today," said Head Coach Thomas Chestnutt. "We just have to get prepared for North Texas on Sunday."

The Pioneers (10-1-1, 3-0-0 Sun Belt) broke up the scoreless tie in the 67th minute on a goal by Lauren Cavarra. The Golden Panthers were able to stay within one until Denver put the game away with under a minute left when Taryn Hemmings knocked in a rebound off of a shot from Alison Kenney.

Freshman Melanie Raimo finished the game with five saves for the Golden Panthers.

FIU will travel to Denton, Texas to take on North Texas, Sunday at 2 p.m.
