The FIU men's soccer team fell to 0-2 on the young season after losing a 3-0 decision to No.1 ranked Wake Forest.
Â
The Golden Panthers held the defending Nation Champion Demon Deacons (2-0) scoreless through the first 55 minutes before Marcus Tracy netted the first goal of the game in the 56th minute. Shortly thereafter, inclement weather delayed the game for nearly two hours. After the delay, it wouldn't take long for Wake Forest to double their lead as Evan Brown made the score 2-0 in the 60th minute. The Demon Deacons would tack on a third goal in 78th minute to put the game out of reach.
Â
Much like Friday's loss to UNC, the loss to Wake Forest was marked by FIU's inability to get their offense clicking. C-USA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Juan Guerra was held to just two shots, both on goal, as FIU took just four as a team.

The Golden Panthers will look to right the ship as they travel to Deland, Fla. on Friday September 5 to take on Stetson. The home opener for the Golden Panther comes two days later as FIU returns to University Park on Sunday, September 7 for a 12 p.m. match with UMKC.
