FIU outshoots the University of North Florida, 9-7, but falls 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville.

"I was encouraged with the way we played but we need to create some more quality opportunities," said head coach Thomas Chestnutt. "We controlled the midfield and the girls played hard to the end but we just need to keep improving."

Katelin Swift scored her second goal of the season off of a rebound in the 52^nd minute to give the Ospreys the victory.

Claudia Cardenas (Visalia, Calif.) was able to get off two shots for the Golden Panthers and Melanie Raimo (Tampa, Fla.) made three saves but UNF proved to be too much.

FIU will travel to California next weekend to take on Fresno State on Thursday night and Cal Poly on Sunday afternoon.
