BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 29, 2011) - The FIU men's soccer team played the No. 25 UAB Blazers to a 0-0 double overtime draw Saturday night at the UAB West Campus Field in Birmingham, Ala. FIU sits at 4-8-4 overall and 1-5-2 in Conference USA action, while UAB sits at 11-3-3 and 5-1-1 in C-USA action.
Sophomore keeper Eric Reyes got the start in goal and earned his his second-career shutout, stopping a career-high eight shots, including a penalty kick in overtime.
Freshman Colby Burdette had FIU's only two shots on goal in the game, while UAB out-shot FIU, 24-9, on the night.
FIU will return to the pitch for the final time in the 2011 regular season for Senior Night on Friday, Nov. 4, against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Match time is 7:00 p.m. ET.
