Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 19, 2012) – Shooting a season-low 33.3 percent from the floor, the FIU men's basketball team (3-5) fell to the No. 5-ranked Louisville Cardinals (10-1), 79-55, in the 11th Annual Billy Minardi Classic on Wednesday evening at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.

Tymell Murphy led all Panthers, notching 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native shot 5-of-15 from the floor and led all players with a game-high 12 boards in 32 minutes of action. Freshman

Malik Smith posted nine points and registered four boards.
The Panthers converted just 21-of-63 shots for the game, including 27.8 percent from 3-point range (5-of-18).Louisville shot nearly 50 percent for the game, converting 31-of-63 shots from the field, including 12 treys. UofL's Peyton Siva posted 15 points (all from downtown) while dishing out 12 assists. Wayne Blackshear led all scorers with 18 points while Chane Behanan recorded the Cardinals' only double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds).
Neither team shot well from the free-throw line as FIU converted 8-of-15 (53.3 percent) and Louisville drained 5-of-11 (45.5 percent).
Louisville out-rebounded FIU, 42-39, and held a 23-13 edge in second-chance points. The Panthers turned the ball over 14 times, resulting in 25 points for the Cardinals.
The loss dropped FIU to 0-20 all-time versus teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 and moved the team's road record this season to 2-3.
The Panthers will next head to Houston, Texas, to take on the Texas Southern Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 22. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
