COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (Oct. 4, 2013) The FIU women's soccer team (3-8-0, 1-2-0) dropped the first game of their weekend road trip, 3-0, to the Colorado College Tigers in a Conference USA match up at Stewart Field on Friday evening.

The Panthers tamed the Tigers in the first half, surrendering just one goal in the 24th minute to Katie Uyenishi for her first goal of the season.

Colorado added to its lead in the 53rd minute, courtesy of Jessie Ayers fifth goal of the season. Ayers took a shot from 18 yards out, which beat redshirt junior Paula Zuluaga to the right post and went in.  The Tigers would go on to score one more time when Sarah Schweiss also notched her fifth goal of the season from a free kick from 25 yards out, which solidified the 3-0 victory.

Zuluaga finished with eight saves, which is three shots short of her career-best (11). Sophomore Jazmin Jones played a full 90 minutes for the third time this season for FIU.

The Panthers next travel to LA Tech where they will play the Lady Techsters at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
