MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Nov. 8, 2013) – The FIU volleyball team (10-15, 4-8 C-USA) lost to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (16-10, 7-4 C-USA), 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-21), on Friday night at Alumni Memorial Gym in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
FIU was led offensively by redshirt junior Ksenia Sukhareva, who posted 13 kills on the night while registering a .333 hitting percentage. Redshirt junior Jessica Egan tallied a team-high 22 assists, while sophomore Lucia Castro recorded a team-high eight digs followed by Sukhareva and sophomore Adriana McLamb, who each had five digs.
Each squad registered 9.0 total blocks. Middle Tennessee recorded a .219 hitting percentage, while the Panthers hit .120 for the match.
The Panthers next travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Southern Miss. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
