In the top of the seventh inning, Jordan Stovall led off with a walk, followed by a double to left by Alexa Ballard that went off the glove of a diving

FAU took a 2-1 lead when the ensuing hitter, Laura Mann, hit a ground ball back to the pitcher that hit off
Shelby Graves' glove, as

The next batter, Shelby Knox, laid down a sacrifice bunt in front of home plate, scoring Ballard from third base to increase the FAU lead to 3-1.
