MIAMI (Feb. 22, 1014) – Senior Jerica Coley scored a game-high 35 points and grabbed a career-tying 15 rebounds as FIU defeated Marshall, 77-66, in the Panthers' Play 4Kay/Pink game. The win snapped a four-game losing streak, which dated back to February 5.

FIU (12-14, 6-7 CUSA) had two additional players score in double-digits as sophomore Taylor Shade added 17 and junior Tynia McKinizie netted 10. All seven Panther players who saw action tonight reached the scoreboard. Coley also contributed five assists, four blocks and two steals for the night. Marshall (9-17, 2-11 C-USA) got 16 points and 11 rebounds from senior Suporia Dickens as well as 16 points and six rebounds from freshman Chelsey Romero.

The Panthers had another solid all-around performance, out-rebounding the Herd, 41-36, and hitting 16 of their 20 shots from the free-throw line. FIU also had 20 second-chance points compared to Marshall's five, large in part due to Coley. The Panthers added 20 points off 18 Thundering Herd turnovers.

FIU was hot from the start, scoring the first seven points of the game, but Marshall quickly responded with back-to-back layups. Both teams exchanged baskets over the course of play, and the first half remained tight as it featured four ties, but FIU never gave up its lead. With the score tied at 26, the Panthers went on a 13-5 run heading into the break.

The Thundering Herd came out strong in the second, using a 6-2 run to pull within two just over three minutes in. FIU responded by scoring the next seven points in the game to take its largest lead of the night. Marshall chipped away multiple times to pull within two, but could not get in front.

Next up, FIU heads to Charlotte to take on the 49-ers on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
