FIU Women’s Tennis Loses to No. 27 Columbia, 4-0

MIAMI (March 22, 2014) – The FIU women's tennis team (6-6) lost to No. 27 Columbia (11-2), 4-0, on Saturday afternoon from the FIU Tennis Courts

The Lions took the first point of the match, winning in doubles action. The duo of freshman Tina Mohorcic and Carlotta Orlando fell to Bianca Sanon and Kanika Vaidya, 8-2, and the tandem of freshmen Nina Nagode and Valentina Briceno dropped an 8-1 decision to Crystal Leung and Tina Jiang.
 
FIU would drop three-straight singles matches to suffer the team's second-straight loss, 4-0. Nagode fell to Jiang (6-2, 6-4), Mohorcic lost to Leung, 7-6 (2), 6-0, and Briceno suffered a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Ioana Alecsiu.
 
The Panthers will next host Nebraska on Tuesday, March 25, from the FIU Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
