@FIUBaseball Takes Two from Saint Peter’s

Box Score Junior Robby Kalaf improved to 3-1 with a solid seven-inning outing. He gave up just five hits, struck out five and allowed one earned run. Junior Brian Portelli and sophomore Edwin Rios each got two hits in the victory.

FIU kicked off the second game with three-straight walks, allowing for junior Josh Anderson to hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Roche Woodard to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the first. Woodard reached base in the second after his RBI double scored junior Alec Beyersdorf from third to up FIU's lead to 2-0. Beyersdorf walked to reach base.

The Panthers came back with a two-spot in the third. Junior L.K. Thompson led off the inning and was hit by a pitch. Thompson advanced to third on a double by Rios. Portelli followed with an RBI single and Brandon Gomez delivered a sacrifice fly RBI to extend the Panther lead to 4-0.

After the Peacocks plated one in the fourth, Beyersdorf added an RBI double to put the Panthers up 5-1. A catcher's interference call in the seventh with the bases loaded added another insurance run for the Panthers, who won 6-2 in the nightcap.
