@FIUWSoccer Closes The Season With a 3-1 Loss Against Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (Oct. 30, 2015) -- The FIU women's soccer team (8-11, 4-6 in C-USA) fell to the Charlotte 49era (7-11, 3-6-1 in C-USA) Friday night, 3-1. 

Transamerica Field saw its first goal in the 17th minute with a cross from 49ers Katie O'Neil to Victoria Febar. She registered her first goal of the season. Charlotte found the back of the net again in the 36th minute with a deep, high shot by Rebecca Beatty. 

Before the end of the first half, the Panthers looked to close the gap with a goal by freshman Lyrik Fryer. The goal was off a rebound from a prior shot off a corner kick. 

The 49ers closed up the game with another goal in the 89th minute by Martha Thomas, who broke away for a score down the left flank, setting the final score at 3-2. 

Tonight's match concluded the Panthers 2015 season, finishing 8-11  overall.
