@FIUVolleyball Will Host the UTSA Roadrunners on Sunday

MIAMI (October 30, 2015) – The FIU Volleyball team (13-9, 7-4 in C-USA) are coming off a long week's rest and will host the Roadrunners of UTSA on Sunday. First serve is set for 1 p.m. on Lime Court at FIU Arena.

Last time out: FIU is coming off a rollercoaster of a weekend. After defeating Florida Atlantic in a five-set thriller on Friday, the Panthers fell to Middle Tennessee in a heartbreaking loss, 3-2 (20-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 8-15). FIU was led by senior Gloria Levorin and freshman Dominique Dodd. Levorin tied a career-high with 16 kills. She also posted five blocks, moving up to fourth all-time in Panther's history with 268 block assists. Dodd led in assists, setting a new career-best with 41. She also added five kills, eight digs, and two blocks for the Panthers.

Scouting the Roadrunners: UTSA is currently 16-7 (7-2 in C-USA). They are coming off a 3-0 sweep of UTEP last Sunday. The Roadrunners will travel to Boca Raton tonight to take on the FAU Owls. UTSA currently sits in the No. 2 slot of the C-USA rankings. The Roadrunners took down (No. 12) Oregon last month and are serious competitors for the conference title.

The Panthers currently sit ranked fourth in the C-USA standings. They are tied with Rice, FAU, and North Texas. The Panthers fell to Rice earlier this season, while defeating the Owls twice. FIU will host North Texas on Senior Night, Nov. 8, to decide that tie breaker.

Senior Lucia Castro is five digs away from passing '03-alumn Elizabeth Baldwin and moving to fifth all-time in Panther's history.
