Records: FIU enters Saturday's game with a 5-6, 3-4 C-USA record following a 52-0 loss at Marshall on Saturday, Nov. 14. WKU enters Saturday's action with an 8-2, 6-0 C-USA record following a 35-19 win versus Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Nov. 7.
 
FIU Head Coach Ron Turner: Turner (Pacific, 1977) is in his third season at FIU (10-25, .286) and 12th season overall as a head coach (52-86, .377). Turner has never faced the Hilltoppers.
 
WKU Head Coach Jeff Brohm: Brohm (Louisville, 1994) is in his second season at WKU (16-7, .696). Brohm has never faced the Panthers.
 
Series History: Saturday will mark the ninth meeting all-time between the two programs. The Hilltoppers hold a 4-3 edge in the series history (4-4 actual on-field record - one game was vacated by FIU due to NCAA sanctions). The last meeting between the two teams resulted in a 14-6 win for WKU on Oct. 27, 2012, in Miami.
 
 
Game 12 – FIU Hosts WKU on Senior Day
The FIU football team (5-6, 3-4 C-USA) hosts the WKU Hilltoppers (8-2, 6-0 C-USA) in the final home contest of 2015 for the Panthers as well as the final time FIU's seniors will take the field at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium. Prior to kickoff, FIU will honor 18 seniors, who will be playing in their final home game. Game time for the regular season finale is set for 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast of FOX College Sports (FCS). Mike Morgan (play-by-play), J.C. Pearson (color analyst) and Steffi Sorenson (sideline reporter) will call the action. Fans can also listen to the game on 1210AM ESPN Deportes with Mike Levine (play-by-play) and Wes Carroll (color analyst) on the call.
 
The Panthers are coming off a 52-0 loss at Marshall and will look to rebound and get back to .500. FIU has been dominant at home this season, with an average margin of victory of 27.7 points. The Panthers are averaging 45.0 points-per-game, while allowing just 17.2 points-per-game at home.
 
FIU comes into this week's game averaging 364.1 yards-per-game in total offense (No. 96 in the nation), while scoring 27.2 points-per-game (No. 81 in the nation). The Panthers are led by sophomore Alex McGough, who has completed 252-of-390 passes for 2,627 yards and 21 touchdowns. His 21 passing touchdowns and 2,627 passing yards are both single-season school record. The Tampa, Fla., native has thrown for 200-or-more yards in eight of the team's 11 games this season and currently ranks No. 22 in the nation in passing yards and No. 18 in the country in passing touchdowns.
 
Sophomore Alex Gardner enters this week's action having rushed for 712 yards on 177 carries and eight touchdowns. Gardner's eight rushing touchdowns ranks No. 5 all-time at FIU for a single season. He also leads the team in receptions having already broken the FIU record for receptions (50) and receiving yards (401) by a running back in a season.
 
Sophomore Thomas Owens is the Panthers' top wide out and leads an FIU receiving corps that has posted 257 catches, 2,759 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. Owens is second on the team with 49 catches for 620 yards and eight touchdowns. His eight receiving touchdowns are tied for the most by a Panther in a single season with teammate Jonnu Smith, who set the mark last season. The Boynton Beach, Fla., ranks No. 19 in the nation in receiving TDs.
 
Defensively, FIU comes into this weekend's contest allowing 26.8 points-per-game (No. 66 in the nation) and 399.6 yards of total offense-per-game (No. 65 in the nation). The Panthers are led by sophomore Anthony Wint, who comes into Saturday's game with 83 total tackles (No. 15 in the conference). The Homestead, Fla., product has recorded 5.5 tackles for loss with two fumble recoveries and one interception. Senior Richard Leonard is second on the squad with 58 total tackles with one pick and six pass breakups. Senior Michael Wakefield leads the team and is tied for the conference lead in tackles for loss (15.0), while his team-leading 7.5 sacks are tied for No. 2 in C-USA.
 
On special teams, FIU is averaging 22.21 yards-per-kick return (No. 46 in the nation) and 11.17 yards-per-punt return (No. 35 in the nation). Leonard leads the team, averaging 23.0 yards-per-kick return (No. 4 in the conference and No. 58 nationally) and 10.7 yards-per-punt return (No. 1 in the conference and No. 21 nationally).

A Quick Look at WKU
Brandon Doughty threw four touchdowns passes and added a touchdown reception in Western Kentucky's 35-19 win on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the C-USA matchup at L.T. Smith Stadium.
 
A homecoming crowd of 18,421 saw the senior quarterback complete 24-of-29 passes for 273 yards and one interception along with his four touchdown passes.
 
Western Kentucky (8-2 6-0 C-USA) pulled away in the second half from a scrappy Florida Atlantic (2-7 2-4) team that trailed at the half 14-13.
 
Anthony Wales led the Hilltoppers ground attack with 17 carries for 135 yards while receiver Taywan Taylor had 5 receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Taylor's two touchdowns both came in the first half on receptions of 4 and 44 yards for the only two scores of the half for WKU.
 
Jaquez Johnson connected with receiver Jenson Stoshak on a 19 yard reception for FAU's only touchdown of the first half.
 
Western Kentucky survived a slow start in the first half and penalties derailed two potential scoring drives, allowing Florida Atlantic to stay close.
 
Greg Joseph was perfect in field goal attempts for the Owls, connecting from 20 and 21 yards in the first half as Florida Atlantic finished 4 of 5 in red-zone scoring for the game.
 
Doughty moved into the Top 25 in FBS history in career passing touchdowns with 97, and the Top 40 in career passing yards with 11,383. He has thrown a touchdown pass in 24-straight games, which is the longest active streak in the FBS behind Trevone Boykin (23) of TCU who plays later tonight.
 
Doughty also caught the first touchdown of his career on a double-reverse pass from Nacarius Fant for the first score of the second half. The score extended the Hilltoppers lead to 21-13.
 
Taylor's two touchdowns give him 13 for the season, setting the WKU single-season record for touchdown receptions in a season. He also became just the second player in WKU history to have 1,000 receiving yards in a season, with 1,044 following Saturday's win.
 
Senior Recognition
Prior to Saturday's game with WKU, FIU will recognize 18 seniors who will be playing in their final game at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium.
 
Trey Anderson, Juwan Caesar, Lamarq Caldwell, Akil Dan-Fodio, Darrian Dyson, Ya'Keem Griner, De'Shawn Hazziez, Lars Koht, Richard Leonard, Jephete Matilus, Jeremiah McKinnon, Aaron Nielsen, Denzell Perine, Luis Rosado, Anthon Samuel, Brandon Taylor, Clinton Taylor and Michael Wakefield will all be honored before the game. 
 
Air Raid
FIU comes into Saturday's game with WKU having totaled 2,759 yards in passing this season. That is the second-highest total in school history. The school record is 2,861 yards in passing (2012) season. A big part of this total is the year that sophomore Alex McGough is having with a single-season, school-record 2,627 yards through the air.
 
4,000 Yards
FIU has recorded 4,005 yards of total offense this season. The offensive total is currently the fifth-most by a Panther team in school history.

Next Man Up
The injury bug is no stranger to this year's FIU football team as to date the Panthers have lost over 120 games from starters and key reserves due to injury, including Jordan Budwig (12 games), Davison Colimon (11 games) and Napoleon Maxwell (12 games), who are each out for the season. Despite the total number of lost games, the Panthers have been resilient as teammates have stepped in a filled the voids left due to injury as FIU sits at 5-6 this season and 3-4 in league action.
 
Points in a Season
FIU enters Saturday's game averaging 27.2 points-per-game. That is the second-highest points-per-game average in school history. FIU has 299 points (No. 4 all-time) with two games remaining in the regular season.  The school record for points in a season is 374 (13 games) in 2010.
 
Home (Ocean Bank) Field Advantage
Through the 11 games FIU has played this season, the Panthers have totaled 4,005 yards of total offense (364.1 yards-per-game). In the team's four home games, FIU has recorded 1,895 yards of total offense (473.7 yards-per-game). On the year, FIU is averaging 27.2 points-per-game, while allowing 26.8 points-per-contest. In the Panthers four home games this season, FIU is averaging 45.0 points-per-game, while allowing just 17.2 points-per-contest.
 
4-0 at Home; Looking at 5-0?
FIU moved to 4-0 at home this season following its 48-31 win over Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 7. It marked the first time in school history an FIU team has gone 4-0 at home. The Panthers will look to continue to make history as FIU will attempt to end the season perfect at home (5-0).
 
Sacks on Sacks on Sacks
On Saturday, Nov. 7, senior Michael Wakefield tied the school record for sacks in a game, producing 4.0 versus the Charlotte 49ers. The Valdosta, Ga., native also tied the school record for tackles for loss (5.5) in the contest.
 
Playing the Percentages
Sophomore Alex McGough completed a school-record 79.5 percent of his passes for 390 yards versus Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 24. The completion percentage bested the previous high set by Wes Carroll versus Arkansas State (21-of-27) on Nov. 27, 2010.
 
O-Line By Committee
FIU's has used six different starting lineups in its 11 games this season on the offensive line. With the "next man up" mantra, FIU has had eight different Panthers record at least one start this season, including three freshmen.  
 
Throwing the Old Pigskin Around
Sophomore Alex McGough has put up some good numbers this season. McGough comes into the WKU game with 252 completions (most in a season at FIU) on 390 attempts (most in a season at FIU) for 2,627 (most in a season at FIU) with 21 touchdowns (most in a season at FIU). He is completing 64.6 percent of his passes (highest completion percentage in a season at FIU) while recording eight outings of 200-or-more yards through the air (most in a season at FIU).
