MIAMI (Nov. 5, 2015) – The FIU men's soccer team (9-5-1, 3-3-1 in C-USA) heads to Lexington, Ky.,. this weekend for a Saturday night match-up against the No. 12-ranked Kenutcky Wildcats (10-3-2, 6-0-1 in C-USA). The match is set for 7 p.m.
Last time out: The Panthers saw their first tie of the season, 0-0, in a lopsided match, statistically, last Saturday against the New Mexico Lobos. FIU dominated in every statistical category except one (the score), outshooting the Lobos 21-5, including 8-1 on net, but could not manage to find the scoreboard. The last match marked the Panthers first tie of the season.
Scouting the Wildcats: Kentucky, undefeated in C-USA play, defeated Charlotte in double overtime last Saturday, 2-1. Agerstrom Hampus scored the first goal of the match for UK from 15 yards out. The Wildcats allowed their first goal in six matches in the 90th minute, sending the game to overtime. In double overtime, the Wildcats found the back of the net with 5 minutes remaining to finalize the game, 2-1.
