GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 19, 2015) – Senior
Johanna Gustafsdottir kicked off FIU's competition at the NCAA Championships on Thursday, posting a time of 1:58.18, finishing in the top half of 60 competitors in the 200 IM preliminaries. Gustafsdottir was the top finisher in the prelims amongst mid-major schools.
Gustafsdotttir will compete in the 400 IM tomorrow while freshman
Silvia Scalia will make her first appearance in the NCAA championships, participating in the 100 backstroke. On Saturday, Gustafsdottir will compete in the 200 breaststroke while Scalia will take part in the 200 backstroke.
