MIAMI (Sept. 23, 2015) – FIU Women's Soccer team (4-5-0) opens up a two-match home-stand, beginning with UTSA this Friday, at 7 p.m. The Panthers will then host the UTEP Miners on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Last time out: After a hard-hitting loss against the Gators Sunday afternoon (6-1), the Panthers concluded non-conference play for the season. With Florida leading 3-0 late into the first half, junior
Alyssa Robinson broke the shutout with her third goal of the season. The Panthers struggled to keep up as the Gators went on to score another three goals in the second half to end the game.
Scouting the Roadrunners: UTSA enters Friday's game with a 0-7-1 record, having lost five-straight. The Roadrunners visited TCU last Sunday, but were shutout, 4-0.
Scouting the Minters: UTEP, currently 7-3-0, have won five-straight after defeating Utah Valley at home last Friday. The Miners are currently ranked third in Conference USA.
The Panthers intend on coming back strong for their first conference game against the Roadrunners, Friday evening. FIU looks to improve to 6-5-0 after this weekend.
