@FIUMensSoccer Hosts Marshall Saturday Night

MIAMI (Sept. 25, 2015) -- The FIU Men's Soccer team (5-2-0) returns home to play its first home conference match this Saturday at 7 p.m.

Last time out: The Panthers began Conference USA action with a thrilling win against FAU (7-2) on Monday. FIU managed three goals in the first half to take the lead at 3-0. In the second half, after junior Luis Betancur netted his second goal of the match, FAU got on the board with consecutive goals cutting FIU's lead to 4-2. Betancur proceeded to register a hat-trick with his third goal of the night; a minute later senior Daniel Gonzalez netted his second goal of the night. Defender Marvin Hezel scored his first goal of the season with eight minutes left in the game, ending the night's match 7-2.

Scouting the Thundering Herd: Marshall, currently 4-4-0 (0-1-0 C-USA matches) suffered a 1-0 loss Tuesday evening in a non-conference matchup against Radford. The Herd outshot Radford 6-2, but were unable to register any goals for the match.

Monday's match against the Owls marks FIU's fifth-straight win. The Panthers currently sit atop the C-USA standings and are ranked No. 24 by the NSCAA.
