@FIUWBB Heads to USF For Final Road Non-Conference Tilt

FIU hits the road for the final time in non-conference action with a Wednesday tilt at USF. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. from Tampa, Florida's USF Sun Dome. The Bulls enter play at a perfect 4-0, while the Panthers come in off their first win of the year Sunday and enter at 1-4.

USF is 12-8 all-time versus FIU. The Bulls have won six in a row against FIU, including the last meeting between the programs, in round two of the 2012 WNIT, a 77-61 win in Tampa.

FIU's victory was a 59-57 win over Robert Morris to conclude the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament in Miami. During the tournament, redshirt sophomore Kiandre'a Pound (Gifford, Florida / Sebastian River HS) secured the Panthers' first double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Her rebound total was one off her career high. The Panthers had three players in double figures, including a career high from freshman Kayla Rogers (Jacksonville, Florida / Jean Ribault HS), who scored 12 points.

Entering play, freshman Alexis Gordon (Palm Bay, Florida / Covenant Christian HS) leads the team with a 12.0 points-per-game average, which ties her for 16th in Conference USA entering this week. She is second in the league by making 2.8 three-point field goals per game and fourth in the league with a .424 three-point shooting percentage. Pound's 6.2 rebounding average is also 16th in C-USA and is the team-high average. Rogers has only missed one free throw and is third in the league with a .929 free throw shooting percentage. Gordon and sophomore Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) are second and third in the league in minutes played, both near 37 minutes per game. As a team, the Panthers sit second in Conference USA with a .364 three-point shooting percentage.

The Bulls improved to 4-0 and took the Junkaroo Jam Lucaya Division Title with an 81-65 win over Georgia on Saturday in the Bahamas. Sophomore Kitija Lakasa scored 34 points for the second time this season, thanks to her school-record-tying eight three-point basket mark. She averages 25 points per game in her first four for the Bulls. Ariadna Pujol scored 20-or-more points in her third-straight game, with 23 to average 19 per game.
