MIAMI (November 9, 2016) – The FIU volleyball team (8-18, 2-10 in C-USA) will wrap up its 2016 campaign with two home matches, beginning with Middle Tennessee (5-22, 2-10 in C-USA) on Thursday, November 10 at 7 p.m. The Panthers will conclude the season on Saturday, November 12 against Southern Miss (20-7, 9-3 in C-USA) on Senior Day, honoring
Katie Hogan,
Tia Clay and
Stephanie Harris.
Hogan, who leads the team in kills (284), points (331.5), attacks (790), double-doubles (nine) and second in digs (212) and service aces (19), is looking for a spot on the All-Conference USA Team. Likewise, junior
Jennifer Ene, who leads the team in blocks with 79 and hitting percentage (.267), looks to repeat last year's All-Conference USA Second Team accolade. Ene currently ranks second in program history for career solo blocks (49) and tied for seventh in career block assists (221). Ene also ranks seventh in career hitting percentage (.280).
Scouting Middle Tennessee: The Blue Raiders (5-22, 2-10 in C-USA) have been eliminated from postseason contention with a 2-10 record in Conference USA. Historically, Middle Tennessee has held FIU's number, leading the all-time series, 25-8. Head Coach
Rita Buck-Crockett is 1-3 against the Blue Raiders.
Scouting Southern Miss: The Lady Eagles (20-7, 9-3 in C-USA) enter the weekend in a three-way tie for second place in the Conference USA standings with a 9-3 record. The Panthers lead the all-time series, 3-2, but have lost the last two meetings.
